The BIG Dover Training Day

EKC Dover College, Maison Dieu Road - Wednesday, 19 February, 9:30am – 3:30pm

After the success of the BIG Dover Jobs Fairs, we’re now bringing you the BIG Dover Training Day!

Led by DDC and funded through the Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the council has brought together educational providers for an exciting day of free workshops and taster sessions.

You’ll be able to try a range of introductory courses with Kent Adult Education and EKC Dover College, from food safety and creative writing, to childcare, hair and beauty, vehicle maintenance, plumbing – plus much more!

The event is being held at EKC Dover College on Wednesday 19 February from 9:30am to 3:30pm with workshops lasting 2 hours.

Booking is required, and you must be aged 18 or above.

DDC Leader Cllr Kevin Mills said: “Our previous jobs fairs have been a huge success and we want to build on that by providing opportunities for people who are looking to start training, re-train or add to their skillsets.

“We’re committed to supporting our residents by helping to create pathways to employment and empowering them to take positive steps forward.

“Thank you to all our partners for their support with this event.”

Eleanor Sherratt, EKC Dover Principal, said: “EKC Dover College is really excited to be the venue for this event.

“The wealth of opportunities that are on offer for the day is amazing and will give adults attending a real insight into the many subjects they can progress onto and study further.”

Kent Adult Education Curriculum Leader Joanna Eve said: “Kent Adult Education is delighted to be able to support Dover District Council and the BIG Training Day.

“We are very much looking forward to meeting local residents and providing a wide range of workshops designed to offer people the chance to try something new such as jewellery-making or sign language or get moving with our mindful movement sessions.

“You could even walk away with a food safety qualification!”
